The retail price of $499 just seems crazy. I guess I was just expecting it to be closer to the price of the mx-1000. The cost of making the mx-1000 has be more than the mx-700. I'm just guessing there was a lot more research and development into the mx-700. Think I will just hold on to my mx-500 for now.

It's a Rare Bird indeed, hoo will pay list price on this website. HTM has to show list price on their sales because they could never undercut a dealer. Bluedo is already $40 off list and I suspect you'll see others drop as well, especially for savy remote users that do not need custom programing.

You mean I could get it cheaper than the list price? I wonder if I could have paid less than the sticker price for my car? I was just saying that a list of $499 just seemed really high. Im sure we will see it for around $350 very soon which is still way over priced for a mx-500 that lets you that you can program from your pc. I got my mx-500 for $110 and paying an extra $300 for the pc interface and some other features just seemed a little steep. The cheap one-for-all and the jp1 cable with the mx-500 will have to work for now.

just my 2 cents:)

Just a note: if our price drops on the MX-700, the reduction will apply to all pre-orders. We're not looking to penalize anyone for getting first in line!

Yep, I was jumping to get one but not at $450+-.

I think color Pronto's are cheaper with all the technology in them.

My distributor says they are a few weeks out but they have two dozen coming are taking orders in minimum of three-packs. I ordered a three pack. I haven't heard of any price controls so I'll let you guys know when I have them. Contact me off list.

Don't forget those 3-packs only come with one cable. HomeTheaterMaster does give you information on how to make your own, though, on their website.
