I'm unable to get the MX-1000 to reliably send signals to my Starsight box. I'm using a Magnavox CB1500, set-top box (no comments please, I know it's old but it works!!!) and although the remote says that's it's learned the signals it is only rarely able to control the box. I was able to get my SL-9000 to learn all the codes that I needed w/o any difficulty but can't seem to get the new unit to learn them. I've tried most of the tips in the files but I'm still haveing trouble. Any suggestions would be appreciated before I return this unit in frustration!!!

Have you tried using your SL9000 to teach the MX1000 instead of the Magnavox remote or vice versa? It’s worth a try.

Yep, I've tried them both. In both cases the MX-1000 says that it has learned the IR signal but is unable to reliably transmit them.

That is strange, sounds like a timing problem you can try Universal's tech support tomorrow at (914)835-4484, or whomever you bought your MX from. I just got these in so have not had a chance to play much, nor have they been out long to really get a good feel for reliability. From the support I have got from Universal over the last couple of weeks, I think they are trying hard to improve their image so I am sure you can get warranty it turns out you bought a dud. I have tried their software but don't see any way to tweak the IR code like some of the other programs out there. Sorry I could not be of more help.
