I am having a problem setting up my remote to punch through volume control from my replayTV to my television. I have the Replay set up as VCR2 and the tv as, well, TV. The remote works fine for controlling each component on its own, but once I do the punch through, things get ugly. I select to punch through TO the tv FROM vcr2 (which I assume is correct). Once this is done I can't control the volume from the vcr2 screen, nor from the tv screen. The remote no longer beeps when pressing the volume control buttons and the "undo" feature (Doing the punch through setup again using the same combination) does not fix anything. The only way I can get out of this is to reload the default software from my computer (resetting the remote did not help).

Does anyone have some advice? I'm sure I am doing something wrong but I guess it possible that there is something wrong with the remote. Thanks in advance for any help!

Your description "punch through TO the tv FROM vcr2" can be interpreted two ways. Does it mean:
1. pushing/punching the VCR2 volume through to the TV, so the TV uses the VCR volume buttons
2. connecting/punching the VCR2 volume through to the TV buttons, so the VCR uses the TV volume buttons

Probably a moot point (and not having this remote myself)...but did you try it the other way around?

The remote first asks TO what device you want the punchthrough on, then FROM which device. Sort of reverse to how I would imagine it.
