Hi everyone,

I've recently acquired an MX-810 (which seems to be the business) and I'm slowly getting things right for my HT system. I've hit a snag though and I'd appreciate any help.

My amp (SR4001) has four digital audio inputs then a separate analog input for each video input. For example, DVD has its own analog input, so does VCR, etc., but the four digital inputs are shared across all of the video inputs. There's a menu for selecting which digital input goes with which video input, but as far as I can work out there's no button on the remote that can change this. e.g. I have my DVD player in the DVD video input and a coaxial audio cable from the DVD player to the D1 digital audio input, so my amp is set up to use "DVD/D1" for playing DVDs.

The problem is that I like to change the combinations of digital audio inputs and video inputs. Say for example I'm using the PS2 with the audio going through the TV and have an iPod playing through the amp via the analog input (so the amp is set to VCR1/analog). If I want to listen to a CD instead of the iPod through the speakers, I now need to change the D1 input so it's paired with the VCR1 video input (i.e. it would be set up as VCR1/D1 now). This takes many 'button presses' and is a bit of a pain.

Can anyone think of a clever way of programming the MX-810 to do this, given that as far as I know there's no button on the remote that came with the SR4001 that can re-assign the digital audio inputs? Is there a way you can set up presets on the SR4001 that anyone's aware of?

Sorry about the epic post. I hope this is clear. If anyone's got any suggestions that would be really helpful.

Thanks a lot,

Tom

Use the browser to set up a button in the PS2 activity that does the commands that you need to do also set up one that gets you back to normal.
