I want to buy an RF module for my MX850. I know that an MRF 260 would work fine but it is more expensive.

Is the new MRF 100B compatible with an MX850 or an MX650 ???

Thanks

Yes it will work, but you can't have more than one remote in your house, as they will all control the MRF. Just set your remote to RFID 0 and you'll be set.

Not to ask questions about your financial situation, but if you can afford an 850, just get the better basestation.

Unless of course that's your goal. I own 4 remotes that control local equipment via IR and central equipment via RF.

True, I guess I should have stated that you can't have more than one basestation, as both remotes will control both basestations.

Heh, nope. That's possible too as long as you don't try to control equipment that shares the same IR code set via RF.

There is one caveat with using multiple remotes, and that's that they all will share the same RF frequencies and hence they can interfere with each other if used at the exact same time.

The addressing scheme of the base stations can't prevent interference because they still share the same frequency regardless of the setting.
