I picked up an R6 at BB today. I have a couple of questions that i think i already know the answer to but its worth a shot.

1. Is it possible to assign macros to the source (DVD, VCR, CABLE) buttons? Or do i have to use ABCD?

Backup Plan....

2. Has anyone had luck or thought to try turning the power ON and power OFF buttons into discrete macros?

I have a sony rec, dvd, vcr and a samsung TV with discretes. If i could teach all the ON's or OFF's over the power toggles for each device it would get me 90% of the way there. I rarely use the VCR or DVD player so using the input toggle for the TV and avrec when i want to use those sources is no big deal.

My issue is that im not having any luck teaching my discretes to the R6. I have a ccf file that im using with a pronto TS-1000. All discretes work via the pronto but the only ones that the R6 will learn are these....

avrec ON
avrec input 1
avrec input 2
avrec input 3

Everything else gives me a learning error. Does anyone have any tips for teaching these commands? Thanks.
