Buyer Beware
I Just Purchased an MX6000 remote it has some very cool features love the PSX base which controls an iPod through the remote . It is similar in some respects yet vary different to program compared to other previous Universal Remote software versions CCP, you would have to program this remote to understand what i mean. This is a real project. Now for the bad news about this new toy i believe this remote is still to new to Use for several reasons one being the extremely slow button response time on soft keys causing it to skip buttons if pushed to fast a real inconvience if you’re a fast fingered individual and hate wait time. Now for some more bad news after playing with this remote for several days i realized after several times of the soft keys freezing up causing me to have to do a hard reboot by removing the battery this is fine for the installer however for the customer a real inconvience. Anyways after all this frustration the customer decided he was unhappy with it and wanted to return it this also was a real pain due to universal remotes not being helpful at all i went on to the installers forum universal hosts with similar complaints made from numerous others thinking with evidence in hand universal would work with me i was way wrong after three days of communications with universal rep Universal Reps told me that is the way this remote was designed to work and they wouldn’t mark it as defective to save me the two hundred restock fee this company really sucks
o by the way i have a pronto tsu7000 that is well over 5 years old that will work faster than this hunk of sh-t at least my opinion until this software is fixed.:confused::mad: http://www.Daveshometheater.com

Although I do feel for starseed's situation/experience. The fact that he wrote this complaint for some other forum, and then pasted into RC for no other reason then "mass bitch" about URC, sucks up all my sympathy.

I get the feeling we won't see another post from him.

Interesting... the symptoms sound exactly like an issue we discussed openly on URC Control Room right after the MX-6000 shipped. I'm not in the support department, but in every case I've heard of these symptoms, the latest Live Update fixed the problem.

No universal remote can always issue commands *exactly* as fast as the factory remote (though for some products we're actually faster). So yeah, it may be possible to "get ahead" of the remote if you're really just pressing the same button over and over again as fast as you can. And hey, there may be some product out there with codes that give us a challenge... I don't know.

But anyway... I'm not saying the original poster wasn't experiencing a problem... but it does sound a lot like a Live Update will fix the described symptoms.

Best regards,
Dale

I dont mean to bitch however this is a high end remote that should have no delay time it is slow a hell in comparison to many other touch remotes im just saying i am disappointed as i mentioned above this should be delt asap universal im sorry to say i loaded a single page template loaded learned or non learned still graphics and ir response time was pretty slow in comparison at least if the commands cant be sent that fast make it so remote remembers key stroke and catches it self up.

Sorry...

I've tried to read your response, but I'm having two problems, and the first leads directly into the second. The second then forces me to endure the first again. So on and so on....

1) The manner in which you wrote your above post is so poorly constructed, I have to actually speak out loud to follow it.

2) The fact that I'm trying to vocalize what you've written, keeps causing me to lose my breath and therefore I either start to black out, or have to stop to catch my breath. I lose my place and have to start over. ...which really is easy in a sentence that contains roughly 95 words.

Regardless... I'm impressed that you managed to find your way back here to see who replied to your rant.

Hopefully you'll find and/or have found a solution to your problem. I couldn't tell from second post.

SmokingHot What are you sleeping with universal Reps or maybe you work for Universal .Why do you care so much i just want my customer and any end user to get the best information.

I sent back this remote took the loss that universal should have taken for there product anyways i did try loading the new update rebooting etc.

All i am saying in short i would wait a few more months till universal deals with bugs before purchasing this remote it is a beautiful remote with a lot of potential but still very glittchy. As i said before slow response and soft keys lock up like SmokingHot wind pipe.

I hope that fit in your wind pipes better SmokingHot.

lol... you're a pro...?

I don't care actually. I just got a kick of your original rant and thought I'd respond. Then I got a kick out of the long winded sentence you came back with...and again I thought I'd respond.

FWIW... if you care to be taken with anything more than a grain of salt on this board. You may want to put some effort into the manner of which you construct your posts. ...So far, you just seem lazy to me, although you're certainly improving.

(thanks for the use of periods by the way.... I could actually read that last reply)

edit: How does a windpipe lock up...?

34min actually....guess that extra bit puts me in the MX-6000 operating spd range. Hope I didn't disappoint....

I admit that I checked in a little more often when I realized that you were starting to stomp your foot in frustration. Especially when I clued in that couldn't actually form a coherent post to save your life. Poking at people such as yourself entertains me.

"Smoking Pants".... ouch, that one stings a little.

I still want to know how a windpipe locks up though....? Could you get back to me on that one in your next reply. For I know that although you try to act like you don't care about this forum, you will check this thread again.

Of course you do...have the right voice your opinion that is. ...and so do I.

I happen not like it when people who just sign into the forum I frequent, so they can go off about a manfacturer that has my admiration. I happen to dislike it even more when those same poeple can't even bother to take the time to write an original post to voice that opinion.

If you take offense by my actions I suggest you take into consideration what it is your doing the next time around. I'm not sure how you thought your statement would go without rebuttal in this remote control site. Especially within the forum for people who own URC products.

Respect is a two way street... I just followed your lead.

I hope in the future, any dealings you have with URC are better than your recent experience.

On a more civil note... Did you insure you were running the latest firmware revision, that Darnitol mentioned? I guess it's too late now, but I'm curious none the less.

Just out of curiosity, when did you download the original software, and what version is on your computer now?

Smoking only sleeps with the Hot Reps.

As i said before slow response and soft keys lock up like SmokingHot wind pipe.

Is this a pick up line? Is this how you flirt?

I hope that fit in your wind pipes better SmokingHot.

Sounds like more flirting to me.
