I currently use pronto touch screen remotes throughout most of my house, but I am getting tired of them. I want something with more hard buttons. I have programmed and am using a mx 3000 in my home theatre along with the msc 400. I have been very happy with the versatility and ease of programming that system, so I am probably going to upgrade the rest of my remotes to either 880s or 980s. I am not sure what the big difference is besides having 8 buttons next to the graphics screen instead of 6, as well as slightly higher graphics resolution in the screen. I actually think the 880 looks slightly better, but does anyone else know of any major additional features that the 980 has?

I would say the MX-980, it is the same as the MX-3000 with no touch screen. The MX-880 is a great remote but is not as user friendly as the MX-980 or the MX-3000. My 2 cents.

Go to the Complete Control forum for more information about both remotes. The MX-880 is basically a color screen version of the MX-900, whereas the MX-980 offers full graphics customization and the advanced macro capability of the MSC-400 (not an issue if you have an MSC-400).
