Help I just got another new in box MX-850 and it will not program.

I cannot get it to download from the editor to the remote because it gets an error: 110-47UU-0002 "Either the com port setting is incorrect or the cable is defective."

The com port and cable are OK because it will program my other MX-850 and MX-800 just fine.

The MX-850 editor version is 1.12.282

Did I get a DOA model?

Thanks for any help

My MX-850 sometimes does the same thing.
Remove the mini jack from the MX-850 and plug it back in.
If that doesn't reset it, reboot your computer and try again.
Both methods have worked for me when my MX-850 decided to be stubborn.
The quick test to see if your MX-850 is communicating with your computer is to hit the Help button at the top of the screen, and then the Firmware Version link in the drop down box.
It will instantly communicate with your MX-850 and give you a firmware version if the connection is good.
If it didn't link to the MX-850, it will give you an error message.
If that happens, follow the two steps mentioned above.

if you are using a USB adapter for the DB-9, you might need to exit the program, unplug the adapter, plug it back in and then restart the program....

Thanks for the help. I tried all the suggestions. No luck. Tried different new batteries, no luck. I even tried it on another computer with no usb adapter, it would not even read the firmware. Every time I tried with my new remote, I could plug in my other MX-850 and it would work.
I wish it would have been that simple.
I got an RMA to return/exchange for another unit.
