I need to program an mx-850 for the following devices:

JVC RS-1 projector
Toshiba HD-XA2 HD-DVD player

I cannot find either in the built in database or on this forum. Has anyone any clues as to how to proceed?

I looked at the faq on the surfremote site that details an interesting hack using prontoedit v4.05--however, Cant find any ccf files either.

Often, similar model numbers work. Or a generic codeset.

If all else fails, do you have the original remotes to learn from?

It's not as bad if you set "Continue to next button" when you learn the codes. It's much quicker, although sometimes error-prone.

This is why installers get paid..... sometimes they have to find codes not in the database or learn them in, then test them and work them into the system

Like OTAHD said, it goes pretty quick when you use the goto next button feature
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.
