Click the link in the email to check the status of the subscription and then put the code in the IPronto.

iI did it and the message appears 1 + 2 i described below. I explain what i did. I make a new account. The account is inactive. I activate the account with the key over my ipronto. Than on the website the subscription is expired. On the website is the hint i should renew the subscription. I renew it and than it is active. When i than look into my subscription the key has changed. When i try to use this key the message appears, 1. the key has never used 2. the key is already active. When i try to download the EPG, the subscription expired message appears.

To be honest with you, Pronto support sucks! I own an iPronto and have never been able to get the EPG to work. I purchased it on ebay about 3 months ago and signed up for the EPG subscription. It showed that it was active for 3 years and I entered the activation code in the iPronto. It always downloads the EPG data and about a few hours before the entire data is done, it stops and says that it could not download all of the data. No problem since it's like 9 days or so but it is not the correct info. The channel line-up isn't even close to matching what it shows online. I have been on the phone with tech support on many occasions and sometimes you can actually talk with someone who seems to be a little compitent. Keyword="little" Usually I seem to know more about the iPronto than the tech guy on the other end of the line! I finally gave up after about 20 attempts of cancelling and reactivating. Recently the iPronto has locked up on the blue start screen and will not even load up my file!

Good luck on this one and if you get it resolved, please let me know how you did it.......in case mine ever starts working again.

Well I am running into the same issue that when I try to get the US EPG data it tells me that the account has expired even when the web reflects an active account. However I did make a test using the Europe Lineup and I was able to at least get a download.

This of course still has me going nowhere.

Well, since I am the only one who apparently got this to work, I will try the following this weekend and report back. I will create a new EPG account with a different email address I have and using my backup IPronto try to create and activate a new EPG on it. I will write down step by step what it takes for it to work (hopefully) and report it here.

@kstrange- Philips does not support the IPronto at all. The team that created it was disbanded years ago. As I found out a while ago in an call to Philips, THIS forum is the main IPronto support mechanism. The Philips support person just recommended this site and that was it. Look at previous posts for when this happened to see the angry results.

Luaner,

You recently purchased your iPronto used from an owner who used it in Europe is that correct? I suspect, this is total speculation, that the previous user is still "signed" up for EPG and that account is still associated with the iPronto. And since I purchased it from a US user the EPG account is still associated and even with the new activation it still does not overwrite that link.

Again this is pure speculation and I guess what I really need to try and do is reach someone at Phillips and see if they can determine by serial number if there is more than one active EPG account.

Hi thebaz67,

yes i bought it from a german user. I think your speculation is very good.
As long as the old account is not cleared i think i didnt get my account to work.
Thanks for this point of view of you. I bet it is correct. So that the account would be cleared or deleted from philips will not happen. The only help you can get is this forum here. Very poor what philips did with his customers.
