I've received the following information on new iPronto firmware:

Remote control (in combination with iProntoEdit 2.0):
• Hidden devices are possible
• Full color fills for panels, buttons and texts
• Support for JPEG graphic files
• Enhanced communication with iProntoEdit for uploading and downloading

EPG:
• Increased memory capacity: up to 500 channels for one week.

Problems solved:
• General improvements on all applications regarding stability and performance.
• A fix is provided that solves the problem that iPronto will not start up or come out of sleep mode without removing the battery and all power.


Look for a new version of iProntoEdit on Monday (along with information on what it fixes).

I just went to the iPronto site and they are still saying 1.3.2 is the current version. When exactly (if you know) will the firmware be posted and when will the iProntoEdit V2.0 be posted?

Remember, firmware upgrades are done directly over the net. I'm doing my unit right now, seems to be getting "8057_C1_5".

be careful!

be sure to upload/save your files first

the upload takes 13 minutes and new firmware is 1.3.7

but it wipes most everything from the iPronto

after the upgrade, I was able to reload the program and the EPG, so nothing was lost

(edit: web addresses and hard button learned commands were lost)

now if we get an editor upgrade...

one improvement I see is in the EPG:

now the 'watch' feature works properly: it sends you to the correct channel more reliably now-

Hmm, not many channel icons showing up. I get CNN Headline News, CNN, CNBC, CMT, Golf, BET and Comedy Central (incorrectly applied to the Canadian "Comedy Network").

Yeah... same thing with me. It lost the whole EPG and had to re-download which seemed to take as long as the firmware upgrade. When finished, I had WAY too many green "i" icons.

This is becoming a really expensive paper weight.

Firmware updates always resets the device - remote configuration file, EPG data, browser settings, etc. The same could be said of the normal Pronto, it's just that there was a lot less to lose. Other remote settings like time, network setup and other options should remain intact.

Mine still resets itself to GMT randomly.

Oddly, the clock is the ONE thing that's been working perfectly. Even when it locks up, once rebooted the clock's always fine. :-)

Back on much earlier firmware (January timeframe) it once suddenly thought it was the year 2036.
