My husband purchased a Ipronto from refurbdepot.com. It arrived today. When he took it out the box, the wireless card and battery were already installed. He plugged in the power adapter and the screen came on with resolution lines on it. The Ipronto welcome screen appeared and that is it. He could not use the touchscreen or turn it off. We checked the battery and it was not even plugged up. We reset using the button on the back, and nothing happened.

Refurbdepot said that everything they sell is covered under the manufactores warranty, but when we called Philips, we were told that it was not covered under warranty. Refurbdepot is closed now, but was wondering if anyone had any tricks to try before we call tomorrow. As it stands we have an Ipronto that plays the start up sound, stops at the Philips Ipronto screen, has bad resolution with the colors and will not turn off.

Hi!

I think your only chance is to hope the failure is caused by damaged software not by the hardware. Let's try a software update:

1. remove the battery
2. wait some seconds
3. reconnect the battery
4. turn your ipronto on an press "mute" and "channel +". Pressing those keys at the beginning of the bootprocess calls the Menu titled "manual configuration"

If the menu doesn't apear i don't know what to do:

do next steps if the menu apears
5. go to "restore" and activate "flag for update"
5. "done"
6. resume.

If all works fine the ipronto will now download the latest software.
