Alright. I have logos for my favorite channels. I'm using the Iprontoedit. Wondering how to program a channel. I could press "learn" to learn a digit or command, but how do you "learn" a channel ?

thanks for the help

Do it as a list of "Alias" functions. So, if you want a channel that is on Channel 101 of your receiver, set the iPronto to first send a one, then a brief pause (this usually workls better but is not always necessary depending on your receiver) then a 0, then another pause, then a 1. And that's all you need to do!

Where are these alias you reffering to.? I'm using the ipronto edit 2...the new version :). all i see is

Also, one last question - When I upload the new icf file, would I lose the ability to use the "tools"? I use them to "learn" the codes.

Thank you in advance for all the help, I'm really trying to get the most out my expensive remote ;)

I'm not sure what you mean about the tools and the learning.

As for programming the channel macros....you would simply click "create link..." then select the device which controls your TV (cable box or satellite)....then go to the page of that device which contains the number buttons....then select '1'. Then add a short delay (about .1 sec is usually fine). Then do the same thing and choose '0'.....then add another delay....then repeat the steps above and choose '1'. Then your button should automatically change the channel to 101. If you are only doing a one or two digit channel number you would simply make the 'enter' button the last step of your macro.

Sorry. That is what I meant! "Create Link" The old ProntoEdit software used the term "Alias". Sorry for the confusion!

As for tools, you lose the ability to "Learn" only if you disable the toolbar at the side on your iPronto configuration. But you can enable it in iProntoEdit, upload the file to your iPronto, learn the codes and then upload it from your iPronto, disable toolbar and then download it back to your iPronto! A bit longwinded, but it works fine and you won't have to do it too often, unless you're the world's worst shopaholic! Oh, and don't forget to save the icf once you have learned the codes!
