Hi,

Just ook delivery of my iPronto for a bargain price, it is all working and up and running on the wireless network.. newest firmware etc etc

one rather large problem though (and I hope it's a simple mistake on my part) I cannot learn IR commands, it simply refuses to learn anything! I know it can transmit them as I loaded a profile with some matching kit.

anyone have any solutons?

Learning does seem to have a bit of an art attached to it with iPronto. Try 2 things. I find one or other usually works well. First, try holding your remotes so the sender and receiver actually touch when you press the button for learning. Then try about 1 inch apart. Also, don't hold the button down for too long. I fond a quick tap is usually enough. If that doesn't work, hold it down and keep it held down until the iPronto beeps. Again, I usually find one or the other works, depending on the equipment you are learning. As I say, it's a bit of a black art, but at least you don't have to do it too often!

Good luck.

I have tried every concievable distance and length of button press and it hasn't learned a single command as yet.

I have used every Pronto up to this one without a problem with learning.... my iPronto seems perfect apart from this!!

Hi. I don't know if this will help, but i had trouble learning commands and i found that the lighting conditions affected it. e.g strong sunlight.

Have you tried the old reliable - take the battery out for a few minutes - then plug back in and start from "scratch"!

Right then... after re-uploading an icf and removing the battery and replacing and discharging and recharging from flat it now captures IR perfectly!

It would seem that being a late adopter for once proved to be worth it!
I had the option of a Crestron system instead of this iPronto and it might be because mine works perfectly but I think I made the right decision.
