Since upgrading to the latest versionof your firmware on 14th June, my iPronto has failed to wake up AT ALL (NOT ONCE) to do an automatic EPG download.
I did a manual one yesterday, and last night, once again it failed to wake up and download an EPG.
What gives?

Let's hope they hear you because everyone is in the same situation. Hopefully, a manual download works, but this definitively should have been catched before release. But look at the bright side: no crash anymore !! ;-)

Maybe we should pay the "EPG" fee to Philips for providing us such a good service!
They should put the sourcecodes in the web or send them to the Open Source Foundation so that "real" software developers can fix the whole problem called "iPronto" ..........
Best regards,
Sir Kalle

I think the £1300 I paid for this POS more than covers a fee to Philips for the EPG "service".
I wholeheartily endorse the idea of putting the iPronto sourcecode out into the public domain and letting real programmers loose on the device.

Some response from the iPronto team would be nice!
If only to let us know you are aware of the problem and are working on fixing it soon....

Hi,
I don't think there is a "iPronto team" - team is defined as at least two people :-)
I think Philips will give a Java guy a few hundred bucks to code something nice and make a new firmware every half year. So, it's maybe one week work to do. Nobody can tell me that a simple remove of the taskbar and some other "improvement" of IR stuff could take such a long period.
There is not more than one guy at Philips which takes care of the iPronto development!
Oh my, if we only had the source codes and the development system, some technical details .... oh, what could we have?! An iPronto full of tablet PC functionality - and more .....
Best regards,
Kalle, again dreaming .......... :-)

We are currently investigating the EPG daemon download problem, a patch will be made available in the near future.

I would be interested to know what "near future" means in the mind of the Pronto Team, months, years, ever ?

Dear iPronto users,
Some users experienced difficulties with the electronic program guide after downloading version 1.9.4 this is addressed with version 1.9.5.
