Hello,

Some questions about EPG :

-(1)- After the 2 free first 2 years, what will be the annual or monthly price for EPG ?

-(2)- If I am not interested by EPG, how can I avoid my Ipronto to connect every night ?
Actually it seems not possible to disconnect EPG update, so it should be a vey useful and good idea for the Philips Ipronto team to add this possibility in the next firmware update.
After the free first 2 years, actually EPG seems to be what we call in Fance an "Illegal forced selling"
What do you think about that ?

-(3)- I noted some of the last sheduled conecting hours for EPG :
4:16, 5:55, 4:38, 4:41, 4:21, 4:11, 4:38, 4:31, 4:14, 4:56, 4:16, and so on..
So is-it the Ipronto which choice this timing, or is-it the EPG server , at the end of each previous connection ?

-(4)- Have you noted some EPG server problems on recent days ? :
I have (with some French friends), once or 2 times a week, an "EPG Partial download" without any retry :
"Download was partial successful. The program information for the EPG could only partially be download. Ipronto will try again later"

These partial nightly downloads are 2 ' long (9' long if full)
On the next morning, a manual Epg update is always full

Thanks for your ideas, help and experiences

Hello

Is-it any new info about a process to disconnect automatic EPG update ?
I dream to avoid crash during night, by disconnecting this function (useless for me)

Is-it a setup on EPG web server to ask this ?

Is-it someone, here, who pay after the 2 or 3 free first years, for EPG ?
If yes, what is the price ?

Thanks for any help :)

If you delete your EPG account and recreate a new one, you should find you get a new 2 yr EPG period. At least it worked for me. Anyway, I doubt Philips have got the audacity to charge iPronto users for this "service".

I agree with nrmsmith,

the EPG service is free. It's not bad, but there are better EPGs out there.

I think that the EPG stuff will not work one day ... from one day to another. And no statement von Philips - as usual.

Best regards,

Kalle

Well that's easy ! Just download the latest update and you won't have any EPG upload, ever...
But beware !, it's irreversible thanks to Philips update system.

Perhaps, in the new firmware, the automatic nightly EPG download has been replaced by an active download (only choosen by user) ?
(it would be nice for me, not using at all EPG..)
Does the EPG setup menu has been modified in the new firmware, about this ?

note : actually, I keep the previous Firmware version.. waiting for (good ?) news about it...

Well, unfortunately for you the automatic EPG download is working again in the latest version :-))
Lucky for the rest f us...

And no, there is no menu to disable EPG, but perhaps you could try not to put any licence key after a factory reset ?
