I am using iPronto with an old LAN-modem which uses a dial-up phone connection, not broad-band. The problem is that it intermittently tries to establish an internet connection which I assume is for some kind of automatic updates, etc. Is there some way to stop this? It's very irritating when someone is on the phone and it decides to call in! Thanks!

Check the Connections tab in the Internet Options dialog (click Tools > Options in Internet Explorer).
Set the radio buttons to "Never dial a connection". The disadvantage of this setting is that you have to connect to the internet manually when you want to view websites on your computer.

I looked as you suggested and that is already checked. Maybe it's the LAN-modem that's trying to call in. I'll check with 3-Com and see what they say. Thanks anyway!
