Just tried to update from 1.5.8 to latest version using ipronto update button in "about" Machine resests tells me to plug in power supply and then shows standard phillips/ipronto screen in blue but does nothing else. I have left it on for hours but no change. Some times I go back to it and it has started up but when i check the "about" screen it still says 1.5.8. The internet connection works when on normally. I really dont wont to use it until im upto date with firmware as this is my second ipronto, the first one locked up after 3 months and has been replaced. I have set the machine to stay on when AC is plugged in. Am I doing something wrong. Any thoughts?

Set it to use static IP instead of DHCP.

Thanks for that worked first time.
Tried Phillips Help line before and they just told me to send it back to dealer. Thought they should know there product inside out. They never asked me to try fixed IP.

Early firmware versions had real DHCP problems - it would work once everything had booted, but seemed to fail to get anything in time for the firmware update. Of course, they all come with that firmware version, which makes it tricky to get *out* of that version...
