Hmmm ... well I know that one of the Network cards I sent out Friday has been received and the customers iPronto is still crashing. :-(
I've already emailed Philips to give them the bad news.

Phil:
Sorry to hear that. If it makes you feel any better, mine arrived Saturday, installed it there and then, and so far (keeping everything crossed) it's behaving itself. EPG updates about 4am, and the iPronto switches on first time. I'll keep an eye on it, in light of your other customer's problem, but I have to say it looks to have solved my problem.
Curiouser and curiouser!

I'm assuming that my other customers problem is not network card related - I was always suspicious that it would turn out not to be (as was he) but it was certainly worth giving it a shot. His symptoms are quite different to yours.
Glad we seem to have got yours resolved though - now lets see what you can do to make it sing!

Phil :) I'm working on an icf that I am quite pleased with so far. I'll post it when it's done I think.

That'll be cool - compared to the other Pronto remotes there's a lot less posted ICFs but then again there's a lot less iProntos out there! The other thing is that a lot of the units go to installers rather than end users so they're not going to get posted.
I have to say though that from a few iProntos that we've had back under warranty (please tell me just how you "put a small dent" in an LCD touchscreen) from installers there are some very sad configurations being punted out to customers - some of the ones I've seen back here have been pretty grim!

I've nearly finished it now. Just a few final touches and it's done. Nightshifts aren't all bad.... Don't tell my boss! :) BTW, how do you get a screen shot for the Files page here? Everyone adds them, and I haven't a clue how they do it!

The only way I know is to have the picture on a server and then link to it. <IMG SRC="http://www.remotecentral.com/prontopro/i-ipronto.jpg" BORDER=0 ALT="">
I've linked to an image on the RemoteCentral server - the one shown at the top of the iPronto page. You would need to upload your image to another server and then replace eveything inside the quote marks with that URL. This message was edited by Dave Houston on 09/02/04 14:17 ET.

Doesn't "Print Scrn" take a screen grab of the current windows desktop into the copy buffer?
You could take a snapshot of one of your screens from the iprontoEdit software like that...

Dave: Thanks, but what I wasn't sure of was how to get a snapshot of the Pronto, rather than how to get it on the Net after that.
Phil: Thanks for that. That should do the trick! There I was looking for some clever software trick or something. Doh!
Moral: never overlook the bleeding obvious!

I use PaintShopPro which lets me capture an area, window, etc. and save it in about any type of image format.
