I was looking at the information concerning the iPronto's wireless ethernet card. I would like to know if there is a suitable substitution for the included Philips Wi-Fi card. You mentioned the Sohoware Netblaster II wireless PC card. Did it fit properly into the iPronto's slot and allow the access door to close? I will explain later why I need to accomplish this. Any information concerning the switching of the Wi-Fi card would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Kim,

I used the Sohoware Netblaster II card because I had a Netblaster II wireless hub (and the Philips PC card caused all kinds of problems with that hub). The Sohoware card was TOO LONG to close the door. I just upgraded to a D-Link DWL-2100AP 54MBPS wireless hub and so now I'm back to using the Philips PC card. Wish I could offer more info -- but I haven't tried any other cards.

I was looking over all the post on the ipronto -vs- tus7000 before I make my choice. Are there any new updates on the ipronto? I ask since this thread is over several months old and new firware has been release on the ipronto. Is it still a paperweight?

Unless you really need the EPG I would suggest the TSU7000. It's proven technology. The iPronto is far from the device it will be. I too was excited about it but there are too many frustrating stories out there. Plus the wireless is not 802.11g so I'd personally rather have my laptop out! It's is a much more functional device for internet browsing.
