I currently have a ProntoPro and using ProntoEdit I can directly enter RC5 codes. I do this by selecting the "Advanced" option on the "Add IR" screen and then typing the code into the "System" and "Command" boxes (eg. System=19, Command=16). I do this because my equipment uses RC5 codes and is not covered by the standard database.

I would like to be able to do the same using an iPronto and iProntoEdit but I can't see how you would do this. iProntoEdit doesn't seem to allow you to define device types and brands that are not in the database and it doesn't seem to offer the same facilties for direct entry of RC5 codes as is possible with ProtoEdit.

Does anyone know if this can be done and if so, how?

Thanks
Mike

Can't be done. Not in ProntoEdit NG either. But, if you copy/paste the hex code generated in regular ProntoEdit, it should work.

Thanks for your quick reply Daniel. This sounds like a step backwards, at least as far as I am concerned.

I suppose they figure that not many people would need to enter codes this way - they'll just learn them.

I have learned codes into my pronto pro and they work. I then learn the same codes into my ipronto running the latest firmware and they don't work.

Only after doing a copy and paste from pronto edit into ipronto edit do the codes work.
