After the recent updates, the iPronto has worked much better aside from not spitting out any learned IR. For this reason alone, I say it sucks. The client really wants this remote, Im really reluctant to turn it over but glad to see the last of it. I would take my TSU3000 over the ipronto any day of the week. I can do as much or more with a palm pilot, than this $1200 paper weight. My company doesnt need such an expensive pain in the neck. ProntoPro is doing just fine.

If Philips just happens to read any of this, thanks for high hopes and a big let down. Tech support is of no help at all either. I know more about Pronto's than anyone I have talked to on the phone.

I assume you're aware of the way buttons have to be formatted for learning to work right?

Each button must have a unique preprogrammed command assigned before they can be learned on. Otherwise, these "identical" buttons will all contain the last learned code. There's some older posts on this behavior.

Okay, so how about Philips just reads all this stuff about the iPronto and makes some quick changes, such as the "unique preprogrammed command" ? ?

If it was not needed before, apparently is not explained AT ALL, and is causing so much trouble, why continue it?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

It was explained as a quirk with how the iPronto's architecture currently works. They agree this is not ideal, and plan on changing it to match the rest of the Pronto line, but I have NO idea when.

I had this problem with the first iPronto that I programmed. I was able to get to a "level 2" tech support guy. He called me when the most current update was released and said that it took care of this quirk. Is this not true as far as you know? I have not had to program another one since the new release, but I have a couple coming up.
