After 8 weeks of attempted configuration of the iPronto I have also finally given up. I've upgraded firmware, downloaded newer editing software, added short delays, long delays, waited on hold for tech support for hours, reset the unit every 2 minutes, started over from scratch multiple times, quit using copy and paste, tried tips and tricks from this site and every forum available. I guess I still have a few things to try; prayer, a tribal dance, voodoo.......
Talk about poor customer service. It took almost 1 1/2 weeks before I received a response (which was essentially useless) from Philips support after emailing them.
I RECOMMEND TO ANYONE EVEN REMOTELY INTERESTED IN BUYING THIS DEVICE, FIRST HAVE YOUR HEAD EXAMINED AND THEN MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AN ABUNDANCE OF TIME AND MONEY TO THROW AWAY. THE iJUNK IS NOT EVEN READY FOR BETA TESTING, YET PUBLIC RELEASE.

I guess my prayers worked. I downloaded the firmware update and new Pronto Edit update and it finally works like a charm. Still a few querky items but fully functional now. I guess waiting finally paid off.
