hi guys,
i want to configure my harmony 720 with dish network 522 DVR.
the difficult part of it is i have to configure my second TV with 720, i noticed that the second DVR remote uses UHF and first remote uses IR.

i have read some threads where experts have suggested to do a IR learn with your DVR remote to 720 and it should pick all the commands.

i have tried that and i doesn't seems to be working.

any suggestion here is highly appreciated.

thanks,
-pankaj

Second DVR or the second tuner on the same DVR? If it's a separate DVR then you should be able to use IR on both DVRs by giving them different IR addresses. If it's the second tuner I think that is RF only. Leave the DVR on all the time and use the UHF dish remote for the second TV.

Akirby,

Is the second DVR for Dish items always RF only?? I was looking at replacing one of my 510DVR's with the Dual tuner HD DVR from Dish. But if the second Tuner is only RF that puts a kink in my layout.

Yeah this is not a harmony question persay -- but it could become one :)

I'm a DirecTV person so I'm not 100% sure but I've heard that it is only RF because it's meant to be used with a different TV in a different room, but it may be optional. You can get the owner's manuals online so just go check it yourself for whichever model you're looking at.

Isn't it also a separate video output? Or can you access both tuners from the same video output?

Whenever you need the second tuner just use the Dish remote. Not perfect but it works. I don't think any other remote will work any better.

You could get a second DVR.
