TIA

Still waiting, I had read a message that it was delayed till August from July. Most likely end of August or later.

Is it going to be a *firmware* upgrade, or just a Harmony software/web site change?

They managed to break it without a firmware update, so they ought to be able to fix it without one. However, I just updated both the software and firmware today - and it's still not fixed.

I noticed how they broke it when I updated my 880 many months ago. It took me a long time to get the thing working decently again. I have been saving up changes (like additions to my CD title collection) for months now for fear of updating.
I have been looking forward to hearing about a new release to fix what they broke.
So will we have to redo all of our configurations that are using multiple commands on one key, and at the start of a activity in order to fit their new macro structure?
I used to love Harmony but grew to hate them after this screwup. I sure hope they are not going to make it too painful to use the new macros. I really expected to fine tune my 880 just how I liked it and then never need to screw with it again. (except for minor additions to media additions)

Not too silly, Trevsy. A macro (meaning big) is a sequence of indivual single commands. Those commands can be from several devices, or all for the same device. Some smarter devices will also let you put timed delays in a macro. So for example you could have one press of a button on your remote do this:
Power ON the TV Power ON the receiver Power ON the DirecTV WAIT 7 seconds (for the TV to warm up) Switch TV to the HDMI input Switch receiver to the DirecTV input Enter a 2 Enter a 2 Enter a 9 (all to switch the DirecTV to channel 229) and so on...
Of course a Harmony does it's own "macro" stuff. When you select a Watch DirecTV activity, the same sequence of command as is listed above may be emitted automatically, except for the channel change.

Any more news on this update? Is it true that they will limit the macro to 3 or 4 commands?

Tsjk Tsjk, long, long ago support promised us a bugfix (yes a bugfix, not an enhancement) for the picture/sound buttons nor working problem and a return of the macro's by fathersday.
Fathersday has passed in Europe without a fix by logitech for the sound/picture bug. Maybe Fathers Day falls on another date in Canada? If not, did they state the year when the fix should happen ?
Where are the times harmony reacted swiftly?
I cannot advise people anymore to buy a harmony remote.
The really screwed up there software development, and isn't the reaon to by this remote 99,9% software driven?
a shame.... Sad customer since the very beginning of a promising development in remotes.

As of 9-6 it would appear they have the macro/sequence feature online. We shall see.

Alas Alas, all other bugs are still here. So they choosed to gapstop one problem in stead of giving us a repair of serious bugs (softbuttons not showing/misplaced and the most severe, bleeding through of the old button assignment in picture or sound mode, giving two IR commands in stead of one). Grrr Henk\
