Yamaha removed the file from their website that listed all the discrete commands accessible from the 90-series remotes(6ch Stereo, 2ch Stereo, etc)

Does anyone have this file?? A quick search provided no results. Thanks

I have a HTR-5950. The discrete commands output from the 90-series remotes will work with just about every Yamaha receiver to my knowledge. The remote I'm going to use the learn the commands to the harmony will be a RAV-360.

Did you check the Harmony commands for those models? Maybe they're already there.

I'm not seeing them. I'll double check....

edit: No dice. I'm on the most recent firmware. There's no 6ch Stereo command and so on....

Maybe I'm being misunderstood. There's a series of button presses, that pressed in the right order will result in the remote sending the desired command ONCE. It only works on the remotes from the 90-series recievers(HTR-5990, HTR-6090). I found a link to a page on AVS, but it was dead.

I have an RX-V1500. Quite some time ago (when I was still using my Pronto TSU2000) I downloaded an Excel spreadsheet that listed discrete codes for an RX-V2400. I found they worked with the 1500. The HTR series are usually just rebadged versions of the RX-V series, so it might work for you as well.

When I set up my H880 I found that some of the codes in the database for the 1500 didn't do what they were supposed to, and many were missing (particularly access to some of the DSP modes that were submodes, e.g. Movie: Adventure, Movie: Sci-Fi).

I thought I found the spreadsheet here in the files area, but it was a while back.

If you want to give it a shot I can email it to you. Send an email to craig(dot)wagner(at)gmail(dot)com and I'll send it to you when I get home from work.

EDIT:

I found it.

I don't think you're understanding our point. It sounds like you're looking for a single IR code that can be sent to the Yamaha that will activate a certain function like 6ch stereo. What we're saying is it's entirely possible that command already exists in the harmony database and therefore is already in your Yamaha device configuration but MAY HAVE A DIFFERENT LABEL.

Please TRY all the commands that are currently listed under the yamaha device and SEE if it already has the command you need. It won't take more than 5 minutes.

You've giving me less credit than I deserve. I've tried that.

I'd give you a lot more credit if you'd said that in the beginning instead of just telling us we didn't understand.

Craig is on the right track. There's a discrete command to access all the submodes that are usually umbrellaed under the main sound fields. For example, the "Stereo" button will toggle between 2 & 6 channel stereo on the Yamaha remote. But, there's a discrete command that will directly access 6ch stereo and 2ch stereo independently. There's many more commands to access all the submodes independently.

At one point, it was on Yamaha's website for download under the "Utilities & Downloads" section.
