When I am setting up activities for my remote that involve tv use (watching tv, watching a dvd, recording a dvd), I'm prompted to enter the tv channel number used for these activities. Is there a way around this? My tv should always be set to channel 3 and nothing else. When I use the remote for a tv-related activity, the remote attempts to reenter the existing channel number, or it gets confused and enters '13' or '33.' Can I program the remote not to enter a channel number for my tv? I can get around it by programming a generic activity, but I was wondering if there's a way using the basic activity setup. Thanks.

Edit the inputs and give it only one A/V type input (not tuner). This way it won't change inputs (there's only one) and it shouldn't ask for a channel number (not applicable to A/V type inputs.
However, I must point out that using a RF connection tuned to channel 3 or 4 is the absolute worst type of connection as far as picture quality is concerned. You'd be much better off if you can use composite, S-video, component, dvi or hdmi connections.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I use different inputs, but my tv channel never changes (I change viewing channels using a digital set top box). I seemed to have resolved the problem for my other activities, but the 'Watch TV' activity still isn't working properly. The remote keeps sending '103' as the channel number for my tv. I've confirmed the way channels are selected on my tv remote (2 numbers). Also, I can cycle through my inputs using one command. However, the software is requiring that I name the input 'Tuner' (instead of '3', '03', or 'Channel 3'), and it makes me choose from three options--'Channel 3', 'Channel 4', or 'Channel __'--when selecting the Tuner input. Is there a way to make Channel 3 the default Tuner input so that the remote will change the input (depending on the activity) but never the actual tv channel? Thanks.

I think I've gotten it mostly figured out. On the original remote for my Philips TV, in order to change the input, you had to hit Menu, then scroll up several places to Input, and then select the correct input. This did not seem possible given the limited number of commands the remote software was giving me to change inputs. There are a couple of buttons on the remote for my Panasonic DVD Recorder that control TV functions. One of the buttons cycles through my TV's inputs. Having the remote's software use this button worked to a degree; however, when switching inputs, the remote kept sending the number '1' to my TV, before sending '03' and the other operations. I saw some earlier posts in which posters mentioned that they were able to switch through the inputs on their Philips TVs using the channel buttons. I used the auto-program feature on my TV remote to get rid of extraneous channels, and manually deleted the remaining few channels other than 3. Now, the channel buttons on my TV remote cycle through the Tuner input (channel 3) and the two external inputs hooked up to my TV. The remote software now uses the ChannelDown command on my TV remote to change inputs. For some inexplicable reason, the Harmony 880 still sends a '1' to my TV when I change inputs, but my TV isn't tuned to static while it waits for the correct channel number to be entered.
