WHEN I FIRST SETUP MY REMOTE THERE WERE CUSTOM BUTTONS ON THE DISPLAY, LIKE 'ASPECT' ON TV & DVD ETC., WHEN I SELECTED AN ACTIVITY.
THEY NOW SEEM TO HAVE GONE MISSNG??? I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO ADD A CUSTOM BUTTON TO THE DISPLAY, I HAVE FOLLOWED THE PATH: ACTIVITIES -> WATCH TV -> CHANGE THE BEHAVIOR OF BUTTONS, I THEN SELECTED 'RESET TO DEFAULTS' WHICH ADDS THE 'ASPECT' BACK TO THE LIST OF CUSTOM BUTTONS, I THEN SELECT 'DONE' AND GO BACK TO THE HOME SCREEN AND UPDATE MY REMOTE, WHEN I TEST THE REMOTE ASPECT IS NOT IN THE WATCH TV ACTIVITY.

I HAVE FOLLOWED THE HELP INFO, WHICH SAID TO PRESS 'SAVE' BUT THERE IS NO SAVE BUTTON, SO I USED DONE.

I HAVE TURNED OFF MY FIREWALL.

I HAVE CHANGED OTHER THINGS SUCH AS TIMING AND NAMES, ADDED ACTIVITIES WHICH UPDATE WITH OUT A PROBLEM.

I HAVE EVEN UPDATED THE FIRMWARE TO CLEAR THE REMOTE MEMORY AND UNINSTALL THE SOFTWARE SO I COULD START FROM SCRATCH, BUT STILL NO LUCK.
IT’S ONLY A SMALL PROBLEM, BUT IT'S ANNOYING ME.

The custom button for a device in an activity is a global option - meaning if you have the 'Aspect' custom button for your "watch TV" activity, it will be there for your "Watch DVD" activity as well, if you are using the same TV. Furthermore, if you delete the custom button from one activity, it will be removed for all of the activities.

Have you removed the 'Aspect' button from other activities that use the same TV?

Please do not post your response with all capital letters. It's only a small problem, but it's annoying everyone. :)

I don't know if I have deleted any keys, when I tried to add a key I think all keys went missing?

Even when I try to set back to default it will not fix the problem. I set to default, all looks fine, press done, then go back to 'change behavior of buttons' and the changes are gone, so I set so default, press done, try uploading and nothing.
It's like a software problem?? or am I doing something wrong?

Try adding a custom command instead of just resetting to defaults.

I just tried learning a new custom command and added it to my activity and it worked.

Why so much crap for something so simple???

Still a great remote!! My wife likes our new Panasonic Plasma, but she was more impressed with this remote!!!

Thanks for your help

Seth: I just posted a similar problem in a different thread. I had messed with my activities and lost all the soft buttons in two of my most-used activities.

The advice I was given was create a new account and start over. I did. I re-entered all my devices and re-set all my activities under the different account...updated the remote...and everything returned as it should. It's a little bit of work but a lot less aggravating than trying to add all the buttons back only to see them disappear again.

Thanks to jlet for the suggestion.
