Hi. This is a tough one (for me at least).

I have 2 displays hooked up to my receiver and am having trouble getting the Harmony 880 to allow me to use them both (switching between them depending on what I want to do).

Display 1: Panasonic TH-42PHW5 Plasma
Display 2: Sharp XVZ-9000U Projector

During the day I pretty much watch everything on the Panasonic, but at night, I sometimes like to watch stuff on the Sharp projector.

The problem is that the activities always want to turn on both of them if I set them both up in an activity so that it changes the input right, and of course, if I don't set them up in the activity, they don't turn on when I want them and don't switch to the input.

What's the best way to deal with this situation?

Set up two different activities with only one display per activity, ie "watch plasma" and "watch projector". This is the same problem we have when watching HD or Std def tv.

Thanks for the quick response, Rayman. That means I'd have basically 8 different activites:

1. Watch DVD Plasma
2. Watch DVD Projector
3. Watch TiVo Plasma
4. Watch TiVo Projector
5. Watch Cable Plasma
6. Watch Cable Projector
7. Xbox 360 Plasma
8. Xbox 360 Projector

My wife is going to kill me.

As Rayman said, you need to set up 2 sets of activities. I also have a projector and a CRT TV, and I do it this way...works perfectly.

If your wife usually uses one display versus another, you could get away with grouping the Plasma activites together, so those are the first ones at the top of the remote.

The only other option would be to use the original remotes to set up a "screen toggle" command that you could put in your activity. It's quite a bit more complicated and "crufty". First, you would have to learn the power on/off commands as one command (using RAW mode and your original remotes) into your main display (probably your plasma). Power toggles work the best because the two power toggles would alway turn one on and one off. Then, if your projector and has a discrete power off command, you should learn that one into your remote as well. The program the activities to all use just the plasma, but have this custom "toggle" command in the custom buttons. This way, you can switch back and forth between the two displays. There will be a problem when switching in and out of activities, because this will not update the power state in the remote. Being that all of your activities have the same displays, switching from one activity to another shouldn't be affected, because it will think the TV is on and leave it on. But turning the system off is another problem. You would either have to learn a discrete power off for the projector into a custom command for the plasma and issue it as part of the your power off sequence for the plasma (not at activity end, or it will turn off the projector when switching activites!).

As you can see, it's very complicated and assumes that your equipment can do certain things. This isn't even considering the fact that you may need other commands for your projector that you'd have to learn also (such as Aspect, etc.). The good news is, projectors usually have discrete power commands, though.

I can't say I recommend this option though, the seperate activity option is just much cleaner.
