Anyone else have this problem???

i've taken good care of hte remote, but looking on the bottom of the remote, the bridge that hols the 3 contacts is a bit warn in the middle, but nothing that should prevent the controller from making contact, if anything it should hav ebetter contact.

The charger portion apart from being dirty, i've blow it out and cleaned it a bit, looks 100% fine. I just can't get them to meet up i don't think, it was always a bit of a pain and when did make contact was tough to make it stay there...now it won't make contact that i can get it to anyways.

Am i alone, what did you people do to fix it?

Same problem with mine, I cannot seem to get it to work, cleaned it up worked for a while, but now nothing. Let me know if anyone comes up with a solution. Thanks!

Your easiest solution would be to contact logitech and request a new charging base. Their was one thread way back when and the solution they used was to solder on a little bead on the contacts to make a better connection but the new base resolves this issue.

I've got the same problem. It just started a couple of days ago. Sometimes when I put the remote in the cradle it charges for 1 or 2 seconds, then nothing. I might try the solder idea but in the interim will have to go back to my old Harmony and go through all the hassle that involves.

I tried cleaning both sets of contacts with a que-tip soaked in alchohol. Now the charge sequence lasts a little longer, but still too early to tell if it will completely recharge.

same problem.

I have a 880 and 890 and had both bases change and now I have to it again.

Maybe a liitle solder first

I contacted Logitech about the same issue and they sent me a new cradle - unfortunately it was identical to the original and ehibited the same problem.

I gave up in the end and bought a Harman Kardon TC30 - much better. It makes a very firm connection in the cradle, and is a nicer remote (IMHO, of course) than the 88x series.

i just bought the tc30 over the 880, and now im pleased. I have a cordless phone that has the same annoying problem with charging, and it drives me nuts, as it always dies when i need it most!
