I've been using this remote (came with $200 Onkyo receiver) for over 8 years.

Over the last several months button performance had degraded significantly. So I convinced myself that it was time to buy a new remote.

Came here to research...spent several hours...and was all set to buy a Harmony 676...when I came across this thred:

It mentions disassembling the remote and cleaning the membrane and circuit-board contacts. So I figure what the heck...thats probably my problem.

Damn it if it didn't work. This thing works like a champ.

So, darn you all for the great advice...Guess I can't justify a new toy after all.
