If I have an activity using my Lite-On DVD player/recorder, hitting the master off button turns everything off but then the DVD turns back on. If I hit the device button and choose the DVD, the off key works as expected. Has anyone else seen this?

Check the off buttons for the other devices - one of them may be activating the dvd player. Also make sure you don't have any extra commands at activity exit and check the options for the DVD player - I know it has an option to send a play command at startup. Make sure there's not a similar option at shutdown.
