Having no luck in having the 550 controlling the 4dtv. The IR confirmation process indicates that the 550 is receiving the ir from the original 4dtv remote.

Any suggestions.

Thanks,

Henry

Try raw mode. How are you confirming that the commands don't work?

Firstly, I did the confirm ir signals protocol in the software. It confirmed that the two remotes were communicating. Then I set up the 4DTV per the software. Finally got some commands to work but the were unexpected results. ie The Guide button brought up the Info screen. The menu brough up the Sat selection screen. Not one of the buttons controlled the device like the original.

What are next steps?

Thanks,

Henry

Try all the commands in device mode and document their behaviour. Then map the appropriate command names to the desired buttons:
Activity > Customize > Change the behaviour of buttons.
Device > More Options > Customize the Device, Sound, and Picture commands for this device.
H659, H680, SA8300HD, TH-50PZ850, AVR-X4000

Thanks. That fixed all the issues with the commands.
