I have the harmony 880 and I noticed that when I need to press 750 or 700 or anything with a "0" in it, I have to press really really really hard for it to register.

I don't know if it's the cable box or the remote. I'm pretty sure it's the remote. My cable/dvr box is a scientific atlanta 8300hd.

Also, is this normal, the response time to change channels is slightly slow.

If it does that only with key "0" then it's a defective unit. You can speed up channel changing by decreasing the SA8300HD device Inter-Key delay to 0 ms. I use the following delays for my SA8300HD:
Power On: 100 ms
Inter Key: 0 ms
Inter Device: 100 ms
H659, H680, SA8300HD, TH-50PZ850, AVR-X4000

You may also want to change the number of repeats setting for the 8300 from 3 to 2. I did that and saw a noticeable improvement in the time needed to change channels.

jlet!

Thanks, I have changed the Power ON, Inter key, etc. and it works more wonderfully!

The "0" problem...I played around with it more and apparently, unlike the other "numbered" buttons, the zero needs to be pressed a certain way in order for it to register (towards the top of the button). I know this is really minor but I hate buying and spending 180+ for something that a little button is defective.

On the other hand, do you have anymore good tweaks?

To change the number of repeats for a device, select "More Options" from the device list, select "Troubleshoot", select "Show me more problems", "XXX doesn't appear to receive every command correctly", "The device responds too much to some commands (for example, volume up increases the volume too quickly)", and you should then be able to change the number of repeats.

There really needs to be an easier way to get to this feature.
