Two questions on the 880 that I either can't seem to find or are really fuzzy.
1. Does the 880 have the ability to learn from another remote? I'm buying this as a present, and my father in law has some really old and crazy stuff, such as old satellite and antennae positioning items.
2. Everyone says that the 880 will choose the aspect ratio, but I've only seen that it will change from 16:9 to 4:3, will it also do the stretch, etc. functions as well?
Like I mentioned, this is for my father in law, so I really want to make sure that this is the right remote for the job.
Thanks

Hi
The 880 does have the ability to learn any function from an old remote control. Secondly i'm not sure what you mean by the 880 choosing the aspect ratio but as far as i'm aware the aspect ratio mode will work exaclty as it does on the original remote, i.e. you toggle through all available modes.
Hope this helps

The only place you'll get into trouble is if your TV has different aspect ratio modes on the TV depending on which input is selected. If its consistent about what the aspect button does, you can generally get it to work without major hiccups. (There may well be discrete A/R commands for your TV as well.)
The other thing that will get you in to trouble is adjusting the A/R manually under the Harmony's nose. Honestly, we rarely use the TV's aspect ratio control, instead we rely on the zoom functions in the cable box and DVD - they work much better in my experience as they have a clue as to the signal they're dealing with.
You will also likely find that old and obscure equipment is in the Harmony database (you'll be surprised), but any Harmony does have a learning funciton.
