I'm torn between buying a 525 or 675. The 525 at £69.99 is £20 more expensive than the 675 at £49.99. But what extra do I get for my £20 - is the 525 much better than the 675? I like the looks of the 525, but is that the only advantage of the 525?

Wow - I thought that was a typo until I checked prices. The 675 (676 here in the U.S.) has more buttons, more memory and a bigger screen than the 525 (520 here). It will do everything the 525 will do and more. Here in the U.S. the 676 has a MSRP of $199USD while the 520 is only $99USD.

I don't see any reason to go with the 525 at those prices.

As you say, stange anomoly on the prices. US price for the 676 is more than double the UK price. I'm worried that the Uk version (675) is maybe inferior to the US version (676), and maybe has something missing - like memory?

I think it's 512kb for the 525 and 2mb for the rest, but I'm not positive. I don't think there's any difference - it's probably just marketing. The 675 is older.

Okay, I managed to track down a Google cache - [Link: 66.249.93.104] - which states that both the 525 and 675 have 2mb.

Anyway, I've gone ahead and ordered a 675 for £49.99, and Logitech have already shipped it today. Last time I looked at harmony remotes, they were way out of my price range, so I'm delighted to get a 675 at this price. It's replacing an MX-500.

The 525 is similar to the 520, but the 525 does have teletext coloured buttons.

The 675 is identical to the 676 as far as I can tell - I don't see any coloured teletext buttons on any photos.

The capapabilities are almost identical (the 525 lacks a program guide), so go off which button layout you like for the price.
