I am buying a Harmony remote as a gift for my husband, but can't figured out which one to get! I have been looking at the 520, 659, and the 680. We have a TV, dvd, dvr, and Bose home theatre system. Any input would help. Thanks!

I'd recommend the 680. The buttons are placed better for DVR use than the 659 and it has more memory, more buttons and a bigger screen than the 520. The price difference is negligible (IMO).

What model of Bose System do you have? All of the older models (~2 or more years)cannot be controlled by any universal remote on the market, and some can be but require another external device.

The newer Bose models allow for control of some infrared based devices but not too sure if the Bose unit itself can be controlled by anything other than the Bose remote.

Thanks for the info. I think I will go with the 680. Our Bose system is an older Lifestyle 12, so we won't be able to control it with the Harmony? I thought it was too good to be true!

Yet another reason not to buy Bose.

Since we have a Lifestyle 12, do you know the Harmony remote would work with another external device? I really don't know anything about this. Thanks
