Well i feel foolish but the fact didn't even cross my mind that the 880 wouldn't come with a usb ir receiver. I have an existing ATI RF remote but thats worthless. Where and what IR USB receiver is best reccomended? I assume this is a fairly important decision since the receiver's software will drive everything in MCE. Any reccomendations? Newegg had a couple microsoft remotes for fairly cheap: [Link: newegg.com] or [Link: newegg.com]

I'd rather not spend a lot, but I know the ability of the receiver to interact with the rest of the OS is important.

Comments appreciated!
Thanks

The first one you listed (for $34.99) is more than you'll need (e.g the remote), but the USB IR receiver and 2 included blasters is great for controlling your set-top boxes if you have them or ever get some. It will definitely do the job, and the price isn't horrible, but I think you can find USB IR receivers out there for cheaper (minus the remote). If you want to have a backup remote, I say go for it! It will do all you need in MCE.

I really wish Logitech/Harmony would just start throwing in a darn USB IR receiver, as we sure pay enough for these darn things!! :)
