I've just got this remote but appear to have a problem with the LCD screen.

On either side of the screen the LCD is severly washed out. I am using the default background, though I don't think it is the background as I also noticed the problem when looking at the slide show and any favourite logo's I've uploaded.

Can anyone let me know what their LCD is like.

Any questions please let me know.

Cheers!

I have just today noticed this on my Harmony 880.

Is this normal or what?

It not really bad..just a tad bit of green in the corners and running up the right side of the screen.

Solution for you both:

Plug in the USB - if the blue screen on the main display with the USB plugged in appears white (washed out of color) on the edges then you have a defective screen and should contact harmony for a replacement remote. I got a new one from them because the right hand side was washed out white (most noticeable in darker colors) and now have crystal clear LCD. I also made darn sure to change the screen saver to pictures of varying colors (especially on the right side).

Guys,

Many thanks for your help!

It is indeed a defective screen. I have spoken to the support people (who I have to admit are by far the most helpful support team I have ever dealt with) and they are arranging a replacement for me.

I'll post details of the replacement experience for reference.

Thanks again!

This seems to be a very common problem for these LCD screens. My first 880 had it and my replacement is actually worse - although it was not initially and has gotten progressively more washed out.
