Could someone help me and let me know if the Harmony 880 database has the Buffalo LinkTheater as a device?

I tried going to the site but you can't get to the database without being a member and already purchased the 880 which I have not done yet.

Yes it does.

You should be able to "Take a Test Drive" from the logitech harmony remote web site in which you can try setting up the remote with your devices .... this lets you see what they have in their database.

However, even if they didn't have it in their database, that shouldn't stop you as it just means that you have to learn the commands from the original remote control.

The only think that took me a while to to work out was that the LinkTheatre requires a 13 second "power on" delay in order to allow it to boot and correctly respong to further commands. What is more, if it receives any LinkTheatre IR command during that boot period it then immediately turns itself off once it has booted (you can try this out using your original LinkTheatre remote by pressing the power on key, wait a couple of seconds and press any other key); therefore this 13 second delay is critical to allowing the Harmony remote to successfully turn it on.

Thanks remotevisitor,

I took the test drive as you suggested and all my components are there. One question is about my setup, it said it had to learn the HR10-250, did I pick the wrong one? I went to the PVR section and picked DirecTV, maybe I should have chosen Hughes instead? Now, how do I change that in the setup or do I have to wait until I purchase and register?

Just picked up the Harmony 880, I am having a bit of a problem with the Harmony Web applicaton, it doesn't seem to recognize that the Buffalo Link Theater has a DVD Player. If I try to add an activity "Watch a DVD" I get the error message: None of your devices can play a DVD. Anyone have success with this?

Try putting in a partial model number and see if it gives you more choices. There may be more than one version out there. Failing that you can just put it in as a generic activity - I don't think there is anything special about a Watch DVD activity that you'd be missing. You could also call support and have them fix it.

Under what Category did you add your Buffalo device? Try "DVD" in the main "Device Category", then under "Device Type" try "DVD" or try "Digital Music Server".

Good idea, I tried going that path, but it took me to the same error when I tried adding the DVD acitvity. I sent off an email to Logitech, I'll let you know what kind of a response I get.
