Hi,
just acquired a Logitech Harmony (H688) and hooked up the Microsoft MCE IR detector to my PC to try and send the Logitech's signals to the computer.

While it's dead easy to configure the Logitech remote to control HI-fi and related stuff, I haven't found a simple way to do the same with my PC.

I'm running Windows XP (not MCE), and would like to be able to say, press one button and control Media Player as if it were a CD player, and have the same for other windows applications, including macros.
Mouse control would be nice too.

Is there anything (software) out there that allows me to do this in a SIMPLE way? Perhaps with a nice graphical interface, etc?

ps: Oh, and please don't suggest Girder, because I've tried it and with all respect for those who rave about it, I find it awfull to say the least - very "user un-friendly".

pps: this question has been cross posted in the PC Remote forum, but nobody has replied for almost a week (forum is less busy), so being Harmony related, I decided to post it here.

If it came with a remote, try telling the website you don't know what you have but have the remote and it will attempt to classify it.

The IR detector works fine (it's the Microsoft USB detector for Windows MCE). I have all the gear: Logitech Harmony and IR detector.

Now I'm only missing the piece of software to interpret the IR signals and use them to control Windows applications.

Does the joystick work well for mouse navigation?

http://www.streamzap.com

Cheap IR based PC Remote that comes with a USB IR Receiver, and the Harmony already supports it. Plus, they have built-in support for tons of apps, including iTunes, Windows Media Player (WMP), Winamp etc.

Basically plug in the USB adapter to your Media PC, setup the Harmony to mimic the StreamZap and BAM!
