Okay, I've decided that DVD's are much more dependable than VHS when it comes to kids. I've watched my son destroy probably 12 tapes do far.
So I thought about this..
Why doesn't anyone come up with a REALLY basic DVD player. I envision it would be single disc and load much like an automobile CD player. It would also skip the menus and just start the movie.
I don't know about anyone else but I'd be the first in line for such a player.

Or, if anyone knows of such a device, let me know...

My 4 year old son uses my original Toshiba 3006. He knows how to use the remote, get to the menu and start his movies. I know I paid a lot for this player when if came out about 3 years ago, but since it is so out of date, if something happens to it, I really do not care. If something does happen, I can go out and replace this unit for a quarter of what I originally paid for it.

My son David, now 22, was taught to place the needle precisely where it needed to be on an LP when he was 4 years old. And it was an expensive needle and cartridge. He just needed to be taught properly, and be given the confidence. He never scratched a single record.

That's my boy!

... Greg :-)

P.S. It's been so long, I can't remember if they called it a "needle" or what? :-/

Greg,

I believe "stylus" was the official name, but I always called them needles too.

Bill ;~)

LOL, Bill! I remembered that minutes after I posted! ;-)

I was quite into it back then. Buying a certain cartridge, and then a certain stylus, balancing the arm, using the right cleaning fluids, and the best of cleaning brushes!!! Those were sure different days than now!!! Issues like "the compliance of the stylus", etc. LOL LOL

... Greg
