I have this IR remote control extender system from Recoton which works nicely (I have solid wood doors and can't pass IR through).
The system comes with one of these little "eyes" that plugs into the receiving unit so that you can stick it right onto the IR of a component if it is not in view of the receiving unit.
My problem is that I want to move one component to a place out of view of the receiving unit and the little eye plug is not long enough to get the signal to the moved component.
Does anyone know if Recoton makes longer lengths of this dohickey, or if other manufactures make one that would be compatible???
Thanks for any input you may have.........

I found one possibility for my answer.
Smarthome.com has a single or twin emitter for 5.99 and $15.99 respectively. Only problem is that shipping is almost $5. Heck, I guess that's ok. So for $10 plus like $16 for a recoton optical cable from Best Buy, I can move my DVD player off of the receiver (I still think there is good clearance, but anyway) and still get IR signal to the components with my remote extender system.

Radio Scrap may sell a 1/8" male to female extension cord that would work for you. Plug the infrared emitter into the female end of the extension, male end into the Recoton, and it should work.
Good Luck, Rick
