Hey y'all, I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I didn't see a topic where new people could introduce themself so I made a new one, I hope that's ok? I just signed up to these forums because I have a remote to submit that the site does not have. I have the manual with all the codes and everything that I will scan, put in a pdf file, then zip and upload. It's a Philips PM8FS that is hard to find. It's silver with a blue back-lit touchscreen.

I will upload it as soon as I fix my other computer in the computer room, because it won't read the dang processor anymore for some odd reason. If you ask me, I think some component on the motherboard has been fried, making the CPU to not be recognized by the BIOS, but the computer screen and everything still comes on and halts as soon as it gets to the part of reading the CPU. Then again, maybe the CPU has just gone bad. But oh well, I can fix it...

Sorry about the whole computer paragraph above. I get carried away when talking about computers and electronics and electricity and anything that has to do with wires and components and switches and buttons and all that fun stuff. Something about it just makes me want more. Is that weird, or is it in some peoples nature to be that interested in something? I love that stuff.

I hope to get to know everybody here and share interests, ideas, and just have fun while doing it.

Oh by the way, I'm from North Texas and you can call me Brybo. :)

Hi and welcome to the site. I don't think there is a newb thread in the intermission forum (truth is most first posts tend to be either "I have a remote and a TV how do I set it up" obviously with no mention of what remote or TV :) or "what remote should I buy" with no other info.

The rule of thumb is that the intermission forum is like a local bar, a bit of mindless chitchat and the discovery of sometime odd but usually useless trivia (which is why you will see that most of the threads are "games") and why some of us think of it as the asylum.

As for the rest of the site most forums are dedicated to either particular remotes (families) or general remote discussion (which is also why we don't tend to talk about them here in the intermission forum). There is also the A/V section where you can discuss equipment and setup and then there is CI world which is not safe for newbs.

As for me I am not new here, but have been here for a very long time (could not find the key to the door) and I am from Montreal.

BTW Texas has been under represented for some time so it is good to add someone from there.

Welcome to the unfathomable depths of the intermission forum. Here we seek answers to the big questions in life...Where did we come from? Why are we here? Did I accidentally put the newspaper away in the refrigerator again?

Not sure what the answer is for you, but for me I can answer no, but I am still trying to figure why I put the Sunday one in with the dirty laundry.
