i have a sony lf-pk1location free playerhttp://[Link: sonystyle.com]. its kinda likea slingbox. this device uses blaster to emulate remotes for certain devices dvd, pvr, etc the databasehttp://esupport.sony.com/perl/lfxremote.pl?i=1 doesnt have an upgrade code for the devices im trying to control. The remote files can be read in notepad but they also have some kind of encoding im trying to find info about it base64+c3 is what it says. I waqs thinking maybe i could use a code for a device that uses same protocol as something they suipport and the change some of the other code to make it work. Im not sure if this is possible at all but i thought here would be a good place to ask or maybe someone could point me in a direction.

heres what a file looks like in notepad

the top lines ryanmc and bottom lines are very relevant to your question the top one being "it's my first day " and the bottom one "check sum"

as you are new you should check sum other threads as this is not the section for such a serious question this is the silly section where we mess about and extract the urine from people who don't read this threads description "Where our members can talk about anything not already covered by one of the other chat forums. Got a remote control related question? Don't ask it in here" i would try [Link: remotecentral.com]

this would be a much better place to ask your question than than here which is much use as an ashtray on a motor bike or as much use as a chocolate fire guard ...

(hey this could be a start of a new good thread a ...AS MUCH USE AS ......then insert a witty comment)

AS MUCH USE AS .....
