Hey all! I have been a lurker for some time in this forum - and have gotten great information and help with my Pronto remote. Thank you!
The purpose of this post is to make sure that everyone takes caution when buying on ebay. I have had dealings with 'dougtheaterman' who sells on ebay. He sells his products with a fake free warranty (since he is not an authorized seller). If you ever need to use the warranty he asks you to send money ($30 in my case) along with the item for repair or replacement. He took my money and sent back the item -still defective- telling me he tested it and found nothing wrong, and to contact the manufacturer with any further problems.
I know some people in this forum have purchased from him, and I just want to make any perspective buyers aware of his fake warranty business practices.
Again, thanks for this forum - especially those who contribute to the Pronto forums. They have been a great resource for me!

I apologize Anthony. Wasn't sure where to post it... in fact I thought it might be considered a little inappropriate by some people. I run a couple of my own forums, and would be weary of allowing a post of this nature - but considering the potential that your users may buy from this person, I felt that the information offered by ebay is not representative of the truth - ex. I gave him a good rating, that I now wish I could retract. I wonder how many people are in a situation like this. Sellers who use the flaws of ebay to exploit Buyers should be outed.
If you feel weary about this post, lock it. Allow others to see it if they search for this seller. They should get all the information that is available before making a purchase. Wish I had it.

(1) Anthony isn't a mod, he can't do anything to it.
(2) It's not the best forum on this site because the only people who read this forum are the jokesters.

OTAHD - I understand. If a mod wants to move it to a more appropriate forum, that is cool. I also don't want to upset anyone, so as a newbie poster I am treading lightly ;-)

all I meant was that I don't think anyone in the intermission is looking to buy a remote from e-bay (or that guy). If the guy sells Pronto's then people looking for Pronto's would be there.

wow, out of all the posts why pick on OTAHD, His post was as serious and on topic as they come here in the intermission.
I am not a mod just someone that has been here for a long time and made too many posts.
And most of the posts in the intermission are semi humourous

Hmmm . . . Think I may have found a glitch. I searched on author (djy) and came back with one result, but didn't actually look at it. Think I'm going to have to double check everything.
