I use this crowd from time to time [Link: radio-now.co.uk]. Although I tend to listen to the BBC - I'm in Australia and Soccer is not that big, although things have changed with the recent win over Japan

You win! Was not a highlight for me. Of course they both play France as well - I just can't wait...oh well, truth be known, yes I can!

I agree.. sorry guys but the USA team did't play well no where near as good as the last time.
For me France were really bad too .
I think Brazil can lift there game Ronaldiniho played some good stuff at times.
Argentina for me played tactically well ,they soaked up pressure well and when the did get a slim chance they put it away .very clinical, a side like this is always dangerous.
As for England winning the world cup as much as i would like them to and my heart wants them to my head says no chance but the semis seem a good bet.
South Korea did look very fit and with the freak weather they could go further than most expect.

Anyone seen the movie Mean Machine? Fans of soccer and Guy Ritchie movies alike would love it...It's an older one.

I prefer "Escape to Victory" Ridenour [Link: imdb.com]

Spain looked good the other night.
Now after England beat trinidad and tobago you would think we won the world cup from some fans and the press!
we were imho slow starting ,passing the ball too slow ,two dimensional in terms of play in the first half. The break through came from a long ball to a big guy ...how original (the better teams will just stop the delivery).
The second goal was the first time Gerrard and Lampard's attacking runs didn't interfere with each other.
Rooney didn't physically do much at all but his presence did speed up the team and lift there spirits BUT no offence but this was Trinidad and Tobago lets see how we do against the better sides.
England really need to improve by 200 percent to have a chance in my opinion.

Look on the bright side. Our game did actually improve in the second half, we scored in the second half and Sven finally got the choice of subs right.

I agree djy ,the subs were good although i though Stewart Downing played average.
2 games
six points
no goals against
is a very good record no doubt.
Guess i am greedy and want them to play amazing football as well!

Oh dear, I've just seen Argentina demolish Serbia and Montenegro. Talk about on a different planet.

Argentina were fabulous .
yes Serbia and montenegro are not the best team in the world but neither are Trinidad and tobago.
They did what we should have.
There passing will cut many teams in half including us.
The Dutch seemed to play a little dirty to me today which is a shame as they can play nice football.
You see the other game djy?

If you mean Mexico v Angola, yes. Not quite so much of a spectacle, but another battling display from one of the, very much, non-fancied teams.

I also saw a little of the Holland V Ivory Coast match, of which I thought the Dutch were a little fortunate to win. I thought the Ivory Coast played really well and could have been something of a dark horse had they not found themselves in the same group as Argentina and Holland.

Today we have the Czech Republic (very impressive against the USA) against Ghana, and Italy (not quite so impressive, in my opinion), against the USA (who really didn't do theselves justice against the Czech Republic). Could be a very interesting day.

PS
I didn't mean to ignore Portugal v Iran, but I see that as being so one sided as to be a no-hoper for Iran - eleven men behind the ball trying to keep the score down. Then again, I suppose no one would have given much for United's chances against Newcastle, all those years ago.
