I have a Home Theatre thingy; its not a brilliant one, but it does the job. However, the remote has stopped working (NOT the remotes fault - visitors, coke, kids etc....).

I contacted the manufacturer, asking for the RC5/RC5x codes for the Remote, with the idea that I could buy a nice new universal remote and program it with codes. However, I'm having a lot of trouble finding one that will allow me to do that.

Am I trying to do something that is simply not possible? Why can I not buy a universal remote and program it that when i press ^ (up arrow) it sends the RC5 code System-22, Command-63?

Any replies or info would be well appreciated (even ones that start - you stupid boy.....).

Mat

You stupid boy...first, this is the wrong area to post for a serious answer...try one of the remote sections or the Home Theater forum...second, don't snort coke so close to your remote, especially when kids are around.

Thanks Anthony. I've started looking at that one - in the meantime, just got a OFA Topline 8 (8550) which is supposed to allow discretes. As it was £6 from ebay nowt a lot to lose!!! chuckle.
