I am trying to unlock a remote and the buttons on the monitor of a plasma tv. The manual says you have to use ASCII code with a RS-232C cable. The code is provided, but I am not sure of what software to use to get this done, or exactly how to type the code to send it. Does anyone know how this is done?

if it is ascii then my guess is that you could use Hyper terminal that comes bundled with windows under all programs/accessories and then possibly (depends on version) communication

It may be easier than I am making it out to be, but if it's not too much trouble how would I send the following command:

[k][m][ ][Set ID][ ][Data][Cr]

Data is 0 for Lock Off.

Thanks for your help. It is appreciated.

Here is the link to the online manual:

[Link: lgcommercial.com]

Pages 35-39 cover this subject. Command 13 on page 38 is what I am trying to solve.
Thanks for all your help.
